Unfortunately, the inaugural Tuggeranong Festival Cup Regatta was cancelled over the weekend. There was heavy rain overnight and several different circumstances combined causing the late withdrawal of more than 66% of crews. This meant the cup format was not sustainable. A disappointing outcome for LTRC and the remaining crews, including Shoalhaven who had travelled especially for this event. The Tuggeranong Festival had a number of other scheduled event cancellations during the day.

LTRC will commence negotiations with the Tuggeranong Festival organisers and investigate the possibility of re-scheduling the running of the Tuggeranong Festival Cup Regatta early in 2012. LTRC are keen to develop this unique regatta format and as there is a substantial cup to be claimed – we hope that clubs will endeavour to support this event in the future.
