Many in the Rowing Community were saddened to hear of the death of Kevin Mongan.  Kevin began a long association with rowing as a Secretary to the then ACT Rowing Association.  He was a Boat Race Official for many years . He was a long-term coach and Committee member of the Daramalan Rowing Club introducing countless teenagers to rowing.  Rowing ACT would like to pass on its commiserations to his wife Kaye, and his three children.   His son Ian is a member of the Black Mountain Rowing Club and is also a well-known and accomplished rower, maintaining a strong family connection to rowing in the ACT.

Kevin’s funeral at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Charnwood on 7 November 2016 was well attended by oarsmen and boat race officials.
