2017-18 ACT PREMIERSHIP

Canberra Rowing Club wins the Men’s and Women’s Premiership in 2017-18.

With the completion of Rowing ACT’s 2017-18 season of point score regattas the Canberra Rowing Club have again been victorious in our Premierships.

ANUBC have improved with their influx of new members and coaches to come second in both categories and this is a major resurgence in the students’ performance.

In third place in the Men’s flag were Black Mountain, based around their strong Masters crews.

In the Women’s competition Capital Lakes Rowing Club was third, an excellent result based around their schoolgirl crews.

Rowing World Champions to race at ACT Rowing Champs this weekend!

 

The current World Champion Men’s Four crew of Jack Hargreaves, Spencer Turrin, Alexander Hill and Joshua Hicks are set to make appearances at the ACT Rowing Championships this coming weekend on Lake Burley Griffin. The crew form part of a high profile line-up of entries from the AIS National Rowing Centre men’s training squad which is based here in Yarralumla.

The Reinhold Batschi Men’s NTC squad members will be racing this weekend with Hargreaves, Hill, Turrin and Hicks being the headline performers following their outstanding win at the World Rowing Championships in Florida last October. The Men’s Four crew […]

Geoff Northam appointed to World U23 Championships jury

FISA announced today that Rowing ACT boat race official Geoff Northam has been appointed to the jury of umpires for the World Rowing Under 23 Championships. This is great recognition for Geoff, who is a stalwart of rowing in Canberra and is one of Rowing ACT’s and Rowing Australia’s top umpires.

The Championships will be held in the historic town of Poznan in Poland from 25-29 July 2018
