Coaches for ACT Junior Representatives chosen At the November meeting of the ACT Rowing Executive, The Board of ACT Rowing endorsed the selection of Junior Coaches for the 2008 Kings Cup. They are:
- Tom Westgarth Womens Junior Eight
- Jaime Fernandez Mens Junior Eight
Squad selection will be conducted in January for the Junior teams. Closing date for nominations has been extended this this Saturday, 1 December. Gordon Marcks and Nick Barnier Receive Awards Rowing Australia has announced that ACT and Australian rowing coach Gordon Marcks has been named ACTAS Sportsmans Warehouse Coach of the Year. Gordo was rewarded for his excellent domestic season within the ACTAS program and then for his role as head coach of the Australian team at the 2007 World Junior Rowing Championships in Beijing in August. He was presented the award by ACT Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation Mr. Andrew Barr MLA and Senator Kate Lundy at the presentation on Monday 19 November. Nick Barnier, who was part of the Australian Junior Team, was also recognised as part of the ACTAS squad of the year. Thinking of Nominating for the Australian Rowing Team?
