Canberra Rowing Club are offering an exclusive viewing of the film Paris or the Bush: The Story of the Murray Cods.  It is a unique piece of Australian rowing history about an awesome club eight from Murray Bridge that won national awards before World War I, served overseas and had a member compete in the Australian Imperial Force No. 1 crew that contested the Henley Peace Regatta in 1919.  The following year, rowing as South Australia, the Cods won the first interstate race for which the King’s Cup was contested, and won again in 1922 and 1923.  The crew then represent Australia at the Paris Olympics in 1924.

This premier is raising funds to for the CRC boathouse redevelopment project.

The film, made by renowned filmmakers Wayne Groom and Carolyn Bilsborow, has been used as a motivational aid for the 2016 Australian rowing team, and has not yet been released for general public viewing.

Your ticket price of $40 will include light finger food and a bubbly, wine, beer or soft drink.

If you wish to make a donation to the boatshed fund, premium tickets are available, with the donation being tax deductable.
