The NCA has released its latest Lake Burley Griffin weekly update. Access to several parts of the lake are prohibited. Lake Tuggeranong continues to be closed due to poor water quality.

Adaptive World Championships

  • ACTAS coach Tara Huntly is coaching an Adaptive Four that will endeavour to qualify for the World Championships.

Road closure – Alexandrina Drive Sunday 17 May This road closure is for the Canberra Half Marathon and will be for the period 09:00 to 10:30. For Sale: Single Scull Three year old 1x for sculler weight 85-95kg. Details here. Regatta Planning for next season ACTRA is convening a regatta planning meeting on Tuesday, 12 May. If you want to have a say, speak to your club representatives.


The regatta was cancelled this morning before the first event due to strong winds and a forecast that they were going to get stronger – that proved to be correct. Australian Youth Cup – Bulletin No 1 released The first regatta bulletin for the Youth Cup is now available here. The regatta is on 10-12 July 2009 at the Sydney Regatta Centre, Penrith.


The draw and programme for this Sunday’s ACT Masters Championship regatta can be found here (draw) and here (programme). ACTRA office and surplus equipment The ACTRA office in Sports House, Hackett, has been closed. The ACTRA postal address is unchanged. A future office may be established in the National Rowing Centre of Excellence office which is planned to be constructed as an extension to the AIS boatshed. The decision to close the office in Hackett was made on cost grounds producing a saving to the Association of approximately $7,000 per year. Surplus equipment from Hackett is for sale by expressions of interest. Items for sale are:

The ACT Premiership results for the 2008-9 season are available here. Congratulations to Radford College for a strong and balanced performance. The masters point score will be available after the ACT Masters Championships on 26 April.


The Friends of Radford Rowing are holding a fundraising dinner on 1 May 09 with Steve Newnham as the guest speaker. The details of the evening are in the attached notice.


Entries are now open for the ACT Masters Rowing Championships via your club and Rowing Manager. The order of events is availablehere. Entries close on Wednesday, 15 April for the regatta that is being held on Sunday, 26 April. Seat fee is $12 for rowers/scullers – coxs free.
