Sonia Mills from Canberra Rowing Club has qualified the W2x boat for the Olympics, sculling with Catriona Sens at the final qualification regatta in Poland yesterday. Two other Australian boats were also qualified for the Olympics and so allowing Australia to compete in all rowing events for the first time. Sonia joins fellow ACT athlete Sarah Cook who is competing in the W2- with Kim Crow at the Olympics. Winter Time Trial #2 – Official Results The official results have now been issued: Saturday; Sunday.
The provisional results of today’s time trial are here. It was shortened to approximately 3km due to strong southerly wind (10C, 68%RH, S 24-33km/h). Australian Junior Representatives Fund Raising Dinner This dinner is on this coming Friday night and this is your last chance to book a seat. Olympic Qualifying Regatta This regatta starts today in Poznan, Poland and Australia is attempting to qualify the M4-, W2x and W1x for the Olympics. The ACT’s interest in this is that our Sonia Mills is in the W2x with Catriona Sens. All three boats are a very good bet for qualification given recent results. Details at the World Rowing website.

The next Winter Time Trial is quickly approaching and entries are due this weekend at your club. You should look forward to the still cool conditions that bless the true winter time trials. ACT Athletes at the 2nd World Rowing Cup – Lucerne We have two athletes campaigning for Australia in Europe at the moment. Sonia Mills raced in the W2x with Catriona Sens and won the B final. Sarah Cook raced in the W2- with Kim Crow and took 4th in the A final. You can read exciting summaries at the World Rowing web site. Australian Masters Rowing Championships completed The AMRC was held last weekend at Nagambie, Victoria. About 80 competitors travelled from the ACT. The ACT representative results were: WIS4x 4th; MIS8 2nd; WIS8 5th; and MIS4x 5th. All results are available from the Rowing Victoria web site.
