Due to a sewerage spill in Queanbeyan, Lake Burley Griffin has been closed for swimming and boating (other than the ferries) until further notice. The spill was on Thursday and the closure is because of bad test results, not just suspected dangers. Rowers who were out today on the lake should take care of any symptoms of illness and consider medical help. The water has a high bacteria count. You can read the NCA media release here.

The recalculated rower scores after Regatta #1 are available here. These will be used to evaluate entries for Regatta #2, which are due to be submitted to ACTRA this weekend. A description of how the rower score system operates can be found here (or via the ACTRA Info link on your left). NTC Time Trial – Lake Navigation Warning Another reminder about the time trial on this Friday morning. Many of Australia’s best athletes will be taking part in this time trial as part of their bid to make the 2008 Australian (and Olympic) team. Do come and watch, but please keep well out of the way. See below for details. ACTRA Committee Meeting Minutes We are trying to get up-to-date with publishing the minutes of the ACTRA Committee and towards this, 11 minutes have been added to this site. You can see them, and previous minutes linked from the Committee page here.

Entries are through your Club – individuals cannot make entries into ROMS. See your club for when entries close with you club, it is probably before next Sunday. NTC Time Trial – Lake Navigation Warning The next NTC Time Trial is this coming Friday morning. Please keep clear of the course (Black Mountain Peninsula to Kingston Boat Harbour) between 06:45 to 07:30. ACT Rowers Scores A description of the ACT Rowers Score system can be found here. This hasn’t changed since last season. The rowers scores are maintained on the ROMS system and can be listed by you club (log in required).

Australian Rowing Representation – nomination info available Rowing Australia has published information about what you need to do to nominate for the Australian Rowing Team for next year. If you are thinking of this, you need to contact Gordon Marcks (m:0407 787270) at ACTAS, as there are locally run components of the selection process.
An amended draw for this Saturday’s regatta has been issued and is available here. Also, this season will see the introduction of placing tents in the finish area above the cycle path, away from the water. This will give priority to boats in the area closest to the water.
