The second World Cup Regatta, on the Bosbaan at Amsterdam, was run last weekend. Crews with ACT athletes did well with Sonia Mills coming second in the W4- (another Australian crew won), and Sarah Cook coming third in the W2- (she won the first World Cup W2- a few weeks ago). You can see details on the Rowing Australia Web Site, and on the FISA web site. Winter Time Trial #1 Results The results of the first time trial can be found here (Saturday) and here (Sunday). Both days it was perfect Canberra winter weather for fast times.

The start list for this weekend’s time trial is here. Should be great for everyone.

ACTAS will be holding a Time Trial tomorrow morning (Wednesday 20th) and Friday morning (22nd) beginning at 7am. Boats will be traveling from Black Mountain Peninsula to Kingston Boat Harbour. Please be cautious when rowing in the area as crews trialing will be traveling on the wrong side between Black Mountain Peninsula and Commonwealth Ave Bridge between 7am and 7.10am. Regatta Workshop 03 July ACTRA will be holding a regatta workshop for representatives from each of the affiliated clubs. If you have ideas or comments to make about our regattas, such as timing, duration, events, order etc, you should pass those on to your club’s representative as soon as possible so they can be presented as something workable.

The first 2007 ACT Winter Time Trials are this coming weekend. Start time is 09:30am each day, with singles and pairs on Saturday, and all other boats on Sunday. General information can be found here. ACTAS Rowing Scholarship Selection Criteria – Available shortly, but…. The 2008 ACTAS Scholarship Criteria is expected to be circulated shortly pending approval by theJoint Management Committee. It is intended that the ACTRA Winter Time trials will be used as part of the selection process, along with regular 6000m & 2000m in the week following each trial. Given the likelihood of the criteria being released next week, the first events will be the 2nd ACTRA Winter Time Trial on the 21/22nd July and Erg testing on the Monday and Thursday following that (the first time trial this weekend and any ergs in the following week, while encouraged, will not be included). In regards to erg testing, these will be done on Concept 2 Model D machines. Anyone who requires access to the Model D’s for training purposes, either as a group or individually, can contact Gordon Marcks to arrange access to the ACTAS machines (there are 6 at the ACTAS shed).
