News from the coaches of the 2005 Australian U23 crewsSaturday, 23 July 2005 Hi all, Saturday's racing has been completed and it's hard to believe that we only have one more day and then our team experience is complete. The racing to qualify for the finals was intense. The lightweight boys threw everything they had and then some at their opponents this morning but were unfortunately not fast enough to get through. They will race the B final on Sunday morning and will no doubt be going all to win that one. The women's four had a a good race in their repechage yesterday to get through to the A final and that will take place at 12noon Sunday. Their race went pretty much to plan except that they were under quite a bit of pressure for the last 750m or so. This race was good preparation for the final. No racing for the girls today and we took it fairly easy watching a few races and then a short row in the lunch break. Otherwise all's well in Amsterdam and I have to admit it was nice to see what the sun looked like again with a brief sunny period this afternoon. We've stopped listening to the weather forecast and will see what the day brings tomorrow. More soon, |
