News from Sarah Cook [2005 Australian Women's U23 4-]19 July 2005 Hi Everyone Well we're in Amsterdam finally, the Under 23 World Rowing Championships start on Thursday... The training camp in Tilburg in The Netherlands last week went well and we were able to work on a few things that came up after the World Cup regatta at Lucerne. We are all very excited to racing later this week, and we had our first row on the Bosbaan today which went well. Its quite a nice course about 15 mins drive from the heart of Amsterdam. Hopefully we will get to go in and have a look at the city in the next couple of days as we havn't been in as yet. We're staying at the hotel Schiphol which is one of the airport hotels so we're a bit out in the sticks but there are a few other teams staying here including Greece, Portugal, China, NZ, USA, Turkey, South Africa. Our heat is the first up on Thursday morning at 9:30am and then the A Final which we should be in, all going well, is on Sunday, also the first one up at about noon or so. It should be live on race tracker at worldrowing.com so you'll all have to sit infront of your computors at about 8/8:30pm AEST!!! We're all pumped for the regatta and its going to be some very exciting racing, our crew is looking good after winning the silver in this event last year, so we're after the gold!!! See you all soon, Cheers from Amsterdam, |
