COLIN PANTON MEMORIAL MARATHON

SUNDAY 6th November 2005
START TIME: 7.00am

The Colin Panton Marathon is held annually at the commencement of the ACTRA regatta season. The event is named after rower Colin Leslie Panton and his coxswain son Colin Stuart Panton who tragically drowned in Lake Burley Griffin during a training session on 26th November 1964

The Marathon is a handicap event for all boat classes and crew status. Starting at the Kingston Boat Harbour and finishing at the tree house in Weston Park, the race covers a distance of approximately 8km.

Perpetual trophies are awarded for:

1st across the line (Colin Panton Shield)
Fastest Boat (Skippers' Trophy)
Fastest non-AIS/ACTAS/NSWIS women's crew (Black Pete Trophy)
Fastest Coxed Four (Stegemann Trophy)

Entry Fee: $5.50 per rowing seat.
