Black Mountain RC Regatta - Results

Dec 2, 12:00 AM

The results of the BMRC Regatta can be found here. Note that races after event 54 are not included due to crews racing out of order and the cancellation of the final events due to the wind. Updated Rower Scores will be circulated soon. Well done to all rowers who competed in the variable conditions. A big thank you to Black Mountain Rowing Club for hosting the event and to Peter Wright and John Gasson for being instrumental in the coordination and preparation for the Womens Sculls Challenge. It was a wonderful event and one that I hope to see continue in future seasons. We would also like to acknowledge Kate Lundy for taking the time to present the prizes to the finalists of the Sculls Challenge and to Marty Rabjohns for his expert commentary and superb MCing in the finish area. Once again the BROs did a great job and had to make the difficult call to finish racing early due to changes in the weather conditions. It was great to see a good representation of media attending the regatta, thanks to all at the finish line for your contribution to the atmosphere. National Time Trial and AIS Rowing Camp There is a Rowing camp being conducted by the AIS from 5 to 15 December. There is also an NTC time trial this coming Friday morning starting at 0700 and running to about 0800 (Entries close 5pm Tuesday, 5 December). Please keep clear of the time trial course on Friday morning (Black Mountain Peninsula to Kingston) and be patient and considerate to the visiting athletes. They are trying to do great things and might need some space to do that in. CGGS Regatta Channel Vision coverage Channel Vision was at the CGGS Regatta and shot a fair bit of video. It was running on the TransACT Channel Vision channel 50 during the week after the regatta, but highlights can be seen on the Channel Vision web site here. The full video (about 1 hour) will be repeated on TransACT channel 50 in a couple of weeks. Lake Burley Griffin Water Quality Testing The National Capital Authority performs water quality testing each week other than during the winter. You can find the reports here. It seems water quality is fine at the moment and the green algae in some parts of the lake is not a harmful type.
