Sri Chinmoy Triathlons Fri, Sat & Sun 27-29 February 2004

Feb 25, 12:00 AM

In addition to the items mentioned above, there will be some events on Friday and significant events on Sunday. For Sunday you need to be aware that:
  • Tarcoola Reach (the bit of water between Black Mountain Peninsula and Weston Park) is closed between 0700 and 0930. Don't even try to sneek past row somewhere else. Those rowing from Black Mountain Peninsula will be able to get out and back to Yarramundi Reach with some difficulty.
  • Lady Denman Drive and Garryowen Drive will be closed to motor vehicles from 0600 to 1200. This is going to make access to boatsheds on Black Mountain Peninsula difficult. Note that many triathletes will be parking around about and cycling/walking/running to the Peninsula.
  • Be patient and thoughtful around the event and remember that we expect exclusive use of Yarramundi Reach many times each year.
Olympic Selections The Olympic Selection trials are continuing at the Regatta Centre at Penrith with the teams due to be announced on this coming Sunday. There is some scant news on the Rowing Australia web site that indicates that ACT residents Donna Martin and Jane Robinson are still in there for women's sculling. Others have done well, but have not made the initial cut that was applied last weekend. Congratulations to all those that even got to be invited to the trials. Indoor Rowing Regatta Wednesday, 3 March 2004 Next Wednesday Glebe Park Health Club is holding an indoor rowing competition at the Canberra Centre. Entries are for teams of 4 (2 male and 2 female) and should be submitted to Glebe Park Health Club on fax 6262 9111 or ring them on 6274 5594. There are prizes to participants including a WaterRower valued at $2,245. This event has nothing to do with ACTRA but don't let that stop you having fun and winning a beautiful looking and quiet WaterRower.
